Scotland's home for the marriage-minded

Come for the quiz.
Stay for the company.

Coorie Club is a membership community where marriage-minded Scots — and the people who love them — meet through games, not swiping.

What is Coorie Club?

A club, not an app. There's a difference.

Every other dating platform puts you alone in a crowd of strangers, armed with nothing but a profile photo and a prayer. Coorie Club does something different.

From the moment you join, you know three things about everyone else here: they care about Scottish identity. They're serious about finding someone. And they're willing to be genuinely known — through games, conversation, and the occasional wrong answer about Dundee.

That's an extraordinary amount of common ground before a single word is exchanged. The ice isn't just almost broken — it's been quietly melting since the moment you walked in.

Who Coorie Club is for
Scots in Scotland looking for someone who shares their values and sense of humour
Scottish diaspora around the world — carrying Scotland with them wherever they've landed
Internationally-based men and women drawn to Scotland, its culture, and its people
Marriage-minded people exhausted by apps that treat love like a catalogue
Anyone who believes the best way to meet someone is to let them see who you actually are
The games

Show, don't tell.

Instead of asking "what are your hobbies?", the games reveal it. Someone who aces the whisky round, struggles with football, and writes a brilliantly wrong answer tells you far more than any profile ever could.

Why the wait for Coorie In?

The matchmaker already knows you.

Three months isn't a barrier. It's a head start.

By the time you're eligible for Coorie In, your matchmaker already has months of real insight into who you are — how you play, what makes you laugh, where you shine, what you're really looking for.

Traditional matchmakers start from scratch with a questionnaire. We start with the real you.

  • 1 Join Gather and play actively for three months — quiz nights, crosswords, the works.
  • 2 Build your eligibility — your progress toward Coorie In is visible in your member dashboard.
  • 3 Apply for Coorie In when you're ready. Places are limited — quality over quantity, always.
  • 4 Meet your matchmaker — a real person, with real insight into who you are and what you need.
"We both got the same wrong answer about Dundee. That was the beginning."

Questions

Honest answers.

Do I have to be Scottish to join? +
Not at all. Coorie Club is for marriage-minded Scots and the people who love them. If you're drawn to Scotland, its culture, its people, or its values — you belong here. Many of our members are internationally-based and connected to Scotland through family, travel, or sheer affection.
What if I miss the Saturday quiz? +
Every quiz is recorded. Members who can't join live can watch the replay, submit their answers, and appear on the leaderboard — marked as a replay entry. The games are designed to work across time zones, so whether you're in Edinburgh or Sydney, you're part of the community.
How does the matchmaking actually work? +
Coorie In members are assigned a real human matchmaker who knows the club inside out. They have access to your game history — quiz scores, Dreich or Braw answers, crossword partnerships, Clan Story contributions — and use that to make thoughtful introductions rather than guesswork. You'll have a monthly call to discuss how it's going and what you're looking for. It's personal, patient, and grounded in who you actually are.
Why is there a 3-month minimum for Coorie In? +
Because matchmaking takes time and works better when the matchmaker knows you. Three active months of Gather membership means your matchmaker starts with real insight — how you play, what makes you laugh, where you connect — rather than a questionnaire filled in on a Tuesday night. It also means you've built genuine friendships in the club, which makes the whole experience richer.
Can I cancel anytime? +
Hearth is free forever. Gather can be cancelled at any time with no penalty. Coorie In has a 3-month minimum commitment — after that it's monthly and fully flexible. We'd rather you stay because the club is worth it, not because you're locked in.
Where does the community actually live? +
The Hearth — our private member community — is hosted on Circle. It's where you'll find the weekly schedule, game links, community posts, and member messaging. Think of the website as the sign above the door; Circle is the pub itself. Games are hosted on Zoom for live events and various async tools for the daily games.
Is this just for people looking for romance? +
The club is oriented toward the marriage-minded, but genuine friendship and community are part of what makes it work. Many members find their closest friends here before they find their person. We're not trying to manufacture romance — we're creating conditions where real connection becomes possible. What happens next is up to you.
